A top weekend for the Yabbies. Saturday saw 5 out of the 6 senior men's teams winning. A B and E grades all occupy finals spots, with just two rounds remaining.
A Grade
The Yabbies won the toss and elected to field. Chris Smith (2/33) and Lucas Plozza (2/12) struck early to have Nar Nar Goon 2/10 in the seventh over. Shannon Price (2/40 off 18) kept the early pressure on, but after tea the hosts batted patiently in the heat and the PUT attack wilted. Andrew Cooper mopped up the tail to finish with 3/43, but the Goon had recovered to 236 all out.
B Grade
PUT batted first and runs were hard to come by as wickets fell. 2/15 in the eighth over became 4/30 after 17. Ben Clough was top scorer with 27, Ian Mortimer made 21 and Daniel Jeavons 17 as the Yabbies were all out for 118.
The Yabbies fought back into the match, reducing visitors Emerald to 3/12 at the close.
C Grade
The Yabbies travelled to Officer and fielded first. Both Bullant openers were back in the pavilion in the fourth over, but a mammoth unbeaten 195 from Kev Quinn took the steam out of the attack. Nick Kyval took 4/64, and Dave Merrigan 2/57 but Officer finished 8/315 by the close.
